Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens In the mid 1970's the Town of Annapolis Royal and its citizens met to discuss ways of revitalizing the town through conservation and promotion of its heritage. A consulting firm was hired to study resources, a possible site was chosen, and county and provincial experts were soon in agreement that the location was ideal for a display garden. The site of Annapolis Royal has been associated with gardens since the 17th century. Shubenacadie Wildlife Park Native and exotic species are the pride of the Nova Scotia's foremost wildlife destination. Make sure you don't miss our wonderful Sable Island Horses. This is the only Wildlife Park system in the world that can boast being home to these animals. Ovens Natural Park Ovens Natural Park is a privately owned 190 acre pristine reserve of coastal forest, located on the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, along the scenic Lighthouse Route. Uniacke Estate Museum Park Uniacke Estate Museum Park is a part of the country estate of Attorney-General Richard John Uniacke. Built between 1813 to 1815, the grand country house is one of the finest in the Georgian style in Canada. The estate offers visitors a vivid glimpse of life in the early 1800s among Nova Scotia's gentry. Halifax Public Gardens The Halifax Public Gardens are more than an open space or park. They are a rare example of a formal Victorian public garden surviving intact and relatively unspoiled in the heart of a modern city. Lansdowne Outdoor Recreational Development Association Park L.O.R.D.A. (Lansdowne Outdoor Recreational Development Association) is the first park specifically for senior citizens and disabled persons in North America. The organization was registered in 1986 as a charitable non-profit organization and has been in operation ever Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens Since September 14, 2002 the Gardens have provided a stimulating and interesting environment for the study and viewing of native flora of the Acadian Forest Region. To many visitors the unique and beautiful gardens are a place for quiet walks and contemplation. Hennigar's Farm & Park In your travels through the lovely Annapolis Valley, Hennigar's duck pond and picnic area is a restful place to stop. Jill Robinson, a landscape designer from Halifax, has been working with the Lacebys enhancing and nurturing the established gardens as well as developing new gardens. |
